I’m Running for City Council (Here’s Why)
Well, here we are. After a lot of thinking (and probably too much coffee), I’ve decided to put my name forward to run for Medicine Hat City Council.
This wasn’t an easy decision. Running for office isn’t exactly on my “bucket list,” but the more I’ve watched what’s happening in our city, the more I felt like it was time to step up.
I’m running because I believe in building a Medicine Hat where:
Public services like transit are treated as essential, not expendable
Everyone — no matter their background or circumstances — is treated with dignity and respect
We invest in community supports like mental health, housing, and clean energy
Council decisions are driven by data, compassion, and common sense — not ideology or short-term gains
I’m not here to sell anyone a shiny political package. I’m a small business owner, a long-time Hat resident, and someone who thinks we can do better by working together — and listening more.
Over the next few months, I’ll be sharing more about where I stand and what I hope to bring to council. In the meantime, if you support this kind of approach, I’d be grateful if you’d:
